T Shirt Headband/ Flower Tutorial

Alright so to start you need a t shirt of whatever color your head desires, a glue gun (or any type of fabric or craft glue), scissors, and a measurement tool.

Start by deciding where you want to cut from.  For myself I prefer to cut the shirt up the side so I just have a large piece of fabric.

Next is to create the headband first since that is the easiest.  Measure out your head size and subtract at least 2 inches.  How much you subtract by really depends on the type of fabric you are using.  For this shirt I was using I actually took off around 3 1/2 inches.

Take your strip of fabric fold it in half and sew the edge leaving about an 1/4 inch of fabric hanging off that you can trim done later.  Then your are half way done.

Next is making the flower.  Cut a strip of fabric that is 3 inches wide and 24 inches long.  Again this varies by how big or small you wish for your flower to be.  Once you have your desired strip of fabric twist it tightly.

Take you twisted piece of fabric and fold it in half so it twists together.

Now using the glue of your choice glue the two ends together.  Once they are glued together start rolling it like forming a swirl and place a dab of glue as you go to keep the flower together.

Once you have your flower all glued together either sew or glue your flower to the headband.  I usually glue it on top of the seam so you don't have to worry that your seam looks sloppy because it's hidden.  And there you go you have a super cute new hair accessories that cost nothing but a t shirt.  Enjoy!!
